Whether it’s an annual Toys for Tots or Food Bank drive, a one-time relief effort in response to a natural disaster, or a chance to provide work experience to young adults who might not otherwise have such an opportunity, Vertrue takes community involvement very seriously.

Upon moving into its corporate headquarters to Norwalk in March 2006, Vertrue began participating in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), a local initiative established by the Office of the Mayor of Norwalk in 1998.
The program's mission is to provide work experience for teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18 who might not otherwise have the opportunity to find gainful employment at that age. The goal of the program is to instill these teenagers with work ethics, job readiness and life skills while teaching them about financial responsibility.
Since 1998, the SYEP has provided over 500 teenagers in the Norwalk area with jobs at local businesses, contributing over 80,000 hours to the Norwalk workforce. Large numbers of local youth yearn for the chance to engage in productive activities and earn their own money, to the point where the number of applicants exceeds the number of available job opportunities by 3 to 1. Because of the obvious appeal of the SYEP, the program continues to expand each year.
In addition to participating in the Summer Youth Employment Program, Vertrue also has a Summer Internship Program of its own, dating back to 2000. The program is designed to provide qualified college undergraduate and graduate students with real-world business experience in any of 12 different career paths, corresponding to 12 Vertrue departments:
- Accounting/Finance
- Client Services
- Corporate Reporting
- Creative
- Human Resources
- Information Services
- Information Technology
- Online Marketing
- Print Operations
- Product Marketing
- Business Development
- Sales
Candidates who are accepted into the internship program receive competitive compensation; work on challenging, meaningful company projects; have the opportunity to network with various senior leaders in the organization; and, depending on their schools' policies, can receive college credit for their work.
Vertrue provides valuable employment and career training opportunities to candidates from all walks of life across the local, regional and national communities. And, as an equal opportunity employer, Vertrue is committed to keeping these opportunities open to candidates of all kinds.
